Pridnestrovie doesn't require "the Kosovo precedent"
Linking the fate of the unrecognized post-Soviet republics to the eventual Kosovo precedent, which has been said in recent times, and improper futile, is the Minister of State Security of Pridnestrovie Vladimir Antufeev.
- Vladimir Y. how, in your opinion, the probability of recognition or non-recognition of Kosovo have on the fate of Pridnestrovie?
– In my opinion, linking political future of Kosovo and Pridnestrovie is artificial and not very appropriate reality. By itself, a discussion of this issue consists of a collection of speculation, the essence of which is to ensure that the “Kosovo precedent” will be the key to the resolution of the South Ossetian, Abkhazian and Pridnestrovian knots. But, in my view, there is no linkage between the situation in the post-Soviet and post-ugoslavskom space at the present time.
- Why? – Nature of Kosovo and the Pridnestrovian varies. Our republic created by the will of the people. This will be augmented by numerous referendums, which we first called for the autonomy of the Moldavian Soviet Socialist Republic, and then, following the destruction of the Soviet Union, for the fully independent, autonomous from Moldova State. 17 September of this year, we celebrate another victory for democracy in the Pridnestrovie region after a referendum on self-determination for the future of the country. The will of the people is this: 97% of the Pridnestrovians voted for the independence of the republic and the free entry into Russia. What can be more questions?
Our ethnic and religious policies are responsive to the interests of all nations and religious groups. Pridnestrovie since the early days of the republic has three state language and has contributed to the opening of schools for others, living in the leadership of nations. We defended their independence with weapons in their hands, but this does not prevent ethnic and religious cleansing. Today, we are a full-fledged State, which ensures its independence, its own, without external military, political and economic protectorate.
Now look at the Kosovo: a typical atnoreligiosny conflict, which led to a genocide Serbian Orthodox population. Moreover, ultimately Kosovo de facto separated from Yugoslavia only through unleashed on the country of aggression on the part of NATO.
Today, Kosovo is under the NATO umbrella. If Yugoslavia is understandable that the country has died, along with his heroic President Milosevic, at the former Soviet Union tectonic movement continues. Still to be resolved fate of the unrecognized, it is impossible to state unequivocally that the Soviet issue completely closed.
Comparing Pridnestrovie and Kosovo, it is clear that the people of the Pridnestrovian a truly civilized, the modern international standards State. In turn, in Kosovo must make a serious effort to come to the Pridnestrovian model. The talk of a “Kosovo precedent” for the Trans-serious. Rather, the recognition of Pridnestrovie may be a precedent for the future of other unrecognized nations and peoples. “But all of the West in favour of the recognition of Kosovo and always derail this opportunity for Pridnestrovie.
- What is the explanation for this?
– The problem in the old “double standards”. In the case of Kosovo, West destroys Orthodox Slav nation and solve strategic question for the final out of the Balkans all forms of Russian influence. For this reason, in spite of the ethnic and religious cleansing, the Americans and the EU put off the recognition of Kosovo. In turn, the Pridnestrovie, as prorussian pocket, in spite of all the elements of a civilized state, from the point of view of the West has no right to be recognized.
That is why the first State, which could recognize Pridnestrovie should become the Russian Federation. We bear the brunt of the Russian Cross, in which our historic mission and vocation. West understands this, and for this “attack” to us. I hope that in the very near future role of the Pridnestrovie aware and properly assess Russia itself.
